Survey Kiln started as an internal tool. It grew into the survey platform we wished had existed.
When you build a lot of Bubble.io apps, you run into the same problem repeatedly: your client needs a survey, a feedback form, or an assessment — and nothing in the Bubble ecosystem handles it well. The existing options were clunky, required duct-taping plugins together, or handed your users' data to a third-party SaaS you had no control over.
So we built Survey Kiln — a proper, full-featured survey builder and renderer designed specifically for the Bubble.io ecosystem. Drag-and-drop question building, conditional logic, 27 question types, full accessibility, and crucially: responses go directly to your database. No third-party data store. No middleman.
What started as something we needed for our own client work became a product we're now sharing with the wider Bubble.io community. Survey Kiln is actively maintained and shaped by real-world usage — every feature request helps drive what gets built next.
The principles that shaped how Survey Kiln is built.
Survey responses belong to you and your users. Survey Kiln never stores, reads, or touches response data. What happens in your app stays in your app.
WCAG 2.1 AA compliance is baked into the renderer from day one — not a roadmap item. Every question type works with keyboard navigation and screen readers.
The drag-and-drop builder should be fast and obvious. The conditional logic and multi-page flow should be there when you need them, not in the way when you don't.
